ASHRA was my first rescue. I decided to pick a breed, get to know the physiology and figured just painting the features would be a piece of cake. The SECOND dog I did, gave me the realization, just like people, there is no formula for the face. EACH animal is an individual. Painting the personality first and breed (or happy mix!) second is the trick that separates a dog PAINTING from a PORTRAIT.

This is a blue eyed regular at the park.  Its owner said he had a terrible time getting a good photo.  SO.... I have always said that cameras lie.  How about a great painting?

Husky Pup

The red Dobie below was in the park again today. He is a rowdy teenager that seems to have an affinity to Huskies. This sweetheart looked a bit roughed up after a real romp with Barkley. I swear, that dog park is more fun than TV.
