Aussie Terrier This Time!

I bet you thought all those Australian dogs did was herd cattle and sheep. NOPE. This is a good old terrier who loves to dig in the dirt. Well, maybe not THIS one:

This dog was a photo provided by a friend who lives in Australia. I did the picture which was seen by a group in California, who wanted not only to buy it, but make it poster for the "Weiner Dog Races" inthe Dogtoberfest of Atascadero!

McDuff

This is a request for an oldie but a goodie!

The lovely little Dachshund Grendel from earlier this year is a roommate of the noble McDuff. An Irish Wolf Hound. The comment is usually "what a long tongue!". In the scale of the dog, it is just about right!

Branching out, I am in a bit of a pastel mood. This is a larger piece, 8x10" which I sell for $200. I think this one has a very nostalgic feeling!

I got this blur of a greyhound at full out stretch and never could do justice to the photo. I am going to try a few more immediate sketches using watercolor and pen and ink to see if I can loosen up a bit and still get the impression of the dog... be kind, this is my first try:

Old Grey

I admit it! I am a slacker. A broken refrigerator, rearranging my house to use my skylight and a busy day cleaning got me to ten tonight with NO DOG! So here is an oldie but goodie.

Some time ago I was at a Renaissance Faire and snapped a dog who was dressed like his master, a lord. Immortalized in oil, here is my OLDE Greyhound.

At my high school reunion, I was thrilled to see a few four legged attendees. This Peke-Chin Mix is one of a pair of great bookends that showed up with a former classmate.

Running Yorkie

This little model, from a dog show, was so perfect, I admit I have three or four great glamor shots of her. I try not to overload a breed so she is being spread out in bits. BUT I have always thought of these dogs as being feather dusters on feet. AM I WRONG??

Another Good Old Dog

I have been looking at the photo I used for this guy for months. There was something so perfectly dog about him. I personally, think I may have missed that ESSENCE of DOG that he projected... but I got most of it!

Big Black Dane

Regal and statuesque. There is a challenge to the black dogs. They have lots more color than black... but this guy, was so.... nothing but a Black Dane.

Pharaoh Hound

There is something so perfect about this dog. It looks like Annubis, the god of the Egyptians, so ancient and wise... and do PINK!

Black Frenchie

There is something so silly/sweet in the face of a French Bulldog. The ears you just want to grab... and something in their personality that KNOWS you do. A bit resigned and plugging on, I saw this fellow checking up to its human to be sure things were going right.

A Dobie to Love

Although I have lost this sweetie's name, I am sure we could find out. These diamonds are all portraits that benefit local rescue groups. This is to aid Desert Harbor Dobermans

And half the proceeds of its sale goes to the group.

Walter, Not Your Run of the Mill!

Quiet Hunter

I always will remember Basenji dogs from TV shows when I was young. Loved documentaries and ate them up. A cute little dog that CAN'T bark? What a cool thing! This was a face I caught at a dog show this year.
