Lost Masterpiece!

As confused as my studio is, I try hard to at least keep thing in GROUPS... but looking for some framing materials I cam across an old sketch book and between the white pages this fell out!   A pastel, 9x13".  When I die, remember to look through my old sketchbooks please!

I hope I helped. This is a great little memorial of a very noble mini schnauzer who died a year ago Good Friday. She was a very special girl. Her mom misses her a lot.

This is a special gift for a good friend. It is pastel pencil on tinted watercolor paper. Started as a black and white charcoal, but I couldn't help getting these amazing tones in.

Madie Girl - A Christmas Memorial

This is the first from my recent demonstration at the Friends of Animal Care and Control charity event. The FACC is one of the greatest rescue groups around! They put their money where their hearts are and their goal is to have NO unwanted animals! SPAY NEUTER!!!

I quite am smitten with this girl!
I got a call because she had been rescued from euthanasia two weeks ago and her mom wanted to add her to the gallery of great dogs on the wall. 6 years old and the SWEETEST, she is my first Weimaraner I have had the pleasure of meeting for the portrait. REALLY great girl.

Giving Thanks

Well, I am a bit shy of my DAILY dog, but starting this on Thanksgiving last year this is the titular anniversary of the blog.

Demo Dog at the Fair

I worked on a pastel over watercolor at the fair. A bit wild but great fun... I mean he started out PURPLE AND BLUE!

Jaeger

This is one of two pieces I did. There was something in the animal that I did not quite get in the portrait, so I re-did it. The owner couldn't make up her mind... so she took them both!

The Dog from the Art Walk

Just watching the people down the streets of Scottsdale a few years ago, and a vendor had this wonderfully soulful little guardian. From a snapshot, I just had to create this essence of dog.

Terry

This was a commission of love. Terry was (we are almost sure) a mostly Wheaton Terrier mix. LOVED hard by a family and given back as a gift to his mother, by a grad student out here. Pictures were hard to work from, but the result was a perfect memory.

Dog Tired of Dogs.

I know, I just sort of ran out of dog steam! So we have the holiday version of my cat.

This is one of the French Brittany Gun dogs or l'Epagneul Breton's who I have the privilege to be their official painter. Sweet little Annie. Had a bad year of health but is doing just grea now!

Tan Dane

This was a demo for the Great Dane Club of Phoenix. Done among the great drooling giants at the show. THAT is street art!

Gypsy Sketch

This is the mascot of the Scottsdale Artist's School, Gypsy. She has been the subject of some of my pastel pieces and this was one I started as a demonstration. Looks pretty good unfinished if you ask me!

Schultz

I give a lot of donations of portraits to charities. This was a winner of a raffle for a Halloween party years ago. Schultz started me on my affair with Giant Schnauzers.

Pudge

I do a lot of commissions, but this is a special one.

Growing up, my grandma had a one-eyed cat called

"Mommy". I had a tripod named Feather.

Pets with infirmaties are still GREAT PETS.

This little Pudge was a well loved and honored

member of the family. And who could

NOT love that smile!!!

Paul's Dog

I had a good friend who moved away a few years ago. She and her husband were models at my art school, and was a gift memorial of his good old dog.

Mango

The wife of local sports figure, now a national commentator, owns this little thing and its portrait. It was a gift from a

friend.
