Two of Sophie

I have done a number of portraits of her mini-schnauzers, and I guess I should know to be heartbroken when I hear from her.  Just days earlier she lost her silver mini, Sophie.  After working with her photos and giving her ideas she felt it took two pieces to capture her personality.  

This is a 10x10" watercolor on wrapped canvas.

And to catch that happy smile, a small 7x5" miniature watercolor.   

Rigel, a real winner

Earlier in the year, I donated a miniature to benefit Miniature Schnauzer rescue groups at the Fiesta Cluster in Scottsdale Arizona.  This lovely face is our winner!

Kia the Mini Pup

I was invited to demo at the Fiesta Cluster Dog show this week in Scottsdale Arizona.  This is my little miniature Miniature Schnauzer model Kia.  Apparently she is much older in person.

I hope I helped. This is a great little memorial of a very noble mini schnauzer who died a year ago Good Friday. She was a very special girl. Her mom misses her a lot.

This is probably the last of the pre Christmas commissions. NOT BY CHOICE, but I ran out of photos. It is for an organizer of a great little animal charity, Lucky Dog. Her Mom's dog is not just lucky, now it is immortal.

Walter, Not Your Run of the Mill!

Walter is one of four pups rescued from a puppy mill. He is vibrant and out going, and a real cutie! He has a couple of white brothers I have posted earlier, and Pippen, his pal is out and adopted. Read about him HERE.

I met this amazing little guy, on a monster motorcycle with its own cage!  Had to take a shot and hopefully, this itsybitsy 3x2.5" sketch is a little tease of a portrait to come!

A Mini-Schnauzer in Oil

BIG surprise last week, I got two commissions from friends for paintings of their dogs. I just submitted the first one for approval and I think they like it. Now to dry!

I had a great weekend with a charity gang from Giant Schnauzer rescue. The minis and giants seem to have an affinity for each other. This fellow was snapped at the pre-holiday event last year and I felt the desire to honor the little guys as well as the larger Giant I am in the middle of painting for a later post.
