I finished a memorial of one of her other Sphynx cats and put this together of another who was recently lost and the best friend who misses their friend...

Two of Sophie

I have done a number of portraits of her mini-schnauzers, and I guess I should know to be heartbroken when I hear from her.  Just days earlier she lost her silver mini, Sophie.  After working with her photos and giving her ideas she felt it took two pieces to capture her personality.  

This is a 10x10" watercolor on wrapped canvas.

And to catch that happy smile, a small 7x5" miniature watercolor.   

Roger

This was a good friend of Schultz whose memorial was a few pictures down.  It is a sad holiday season when good friends leave so close together, but at least they can frolic in Pup heaven.

From way out East, I got this commission to honor a retiring K9 Cop and his four favorite partners. A great thank you gift for a man well loved by his staff and co-workers and a wonderful honor to his historic canine heros.

Madie Girl - A Christmas Memorial

This is the first from my recent demonstration at the Friends of Animal Care and Control charity event. The FACC is one of the greatest rescue groups around! They put their money where their hearts are and their goal is to have NO unwanted animals! SPAY NEUTER!!!

We are trying to send it out ASAP.

Rescues are not often cute puppies and kittens. The neediest are the animals with very little time, lives that will be short and the most wonderful rescue people give these guys a quality of life at the end that makes us understand what humane REALLY means. Just respecting all life as much as our own.

I got a note from Boston, from a wife of a K-9 officer. She wanted to give him a portrait of his two favorite partners as a Christmas tribute.

More Horsing Around!

I seem to have been discovered by the horsie set!

The amazing star on the front of this memorial piece was a challenge, but I personally find it one that keeps looking back at me from my easel.

Leonard, probably done.

I have a bad habit of being hyper focused. When I get a commission and have the times, I lock my knees in front of the easel and paint for up to 18 hours at a time and then burn out.

Leonard was a bit of a binge. I am happy as is, but I will probably live with him a little and see if I really want to add the background (I suppose the client will make that decision for me) but for today, he is complete.

A really great Dane

This charcoal is a memorial gift to a client. Another of their Harlequin Danes was immortalized years earlier with a young upstart. Now a portrait charcoal is a reminder of a great friend.

Summer is getting hotter in the BEST sort of way!
I am back from all my human wanderings and back into animals.
The blog will start branching out after this one, but for now, we are back with a lovely pair of Boxers.

This was the winner in the Silent Auction for Friends of Animal Care and Control. It is a memorial. Took a while to even get the photo because the winner and I were crying too much to talk about it!

Pudge

I do a lot of commissions, but this is a special one.

Growing up, my grandma had a one-eyed cat called

"Mommy". I had a tripod named Feather.

Pets with infirmaties are still GREAT PETS.

This little Pudge was a well loved and honored

member of the family. And who could

NOT love that smile!!!
