Leonard was a bit of a binge. I am happy as is, but I will probably live with him a little and see if I really want to add the background (I suppose the client will make that decision for me) but for today, he is complete.

Leonard, probably done.
I have a bad habit of being hyper focused. When I get a commission and have the times, I lock my knees in front of the easel and paint for up to 18 hours at a time and then burn out.

A slide show...of the Amazing Leonard.
I started this demonstration piece in the Grand Opening event for the Arizona Art Alliance Gallery and previewed it against the wall of my human portraits

This a commissioned piece in progress (I hope)
I will post the finish in a new post but add to the show as I work.
Keep checking back!

Teaching Demonstrations
I am now an official Grumbacher educator. I will be teaching in local Michael's art stores in the Scottsdale are starting July. This is the first of my demonstrations. As I have not done any animals for months, I grabbed one of my great shots of a local British Bull and did this piece, using only the student paint kit.

Two Bullie Buddies
I took this photo last year and I have thought and thought about how to paint it. I needed a subject for my second State Fair demo in watercolor and pulled out a 16x12" piece of watercolor and did this tonight as my demo. There may be a bit more detailing, but really, I am very happy with it as is!

Bulldog with a Ball
I like Bull Dogs. They are capable of taking a leg off, but have sort of nuclear deterrent attitude: Because I CAN do do not have to! Like walking foot stools, they have always seemed very expressive and communicative to me..
This one has a ball!

Colorful Bulldog
This is an older demonstration of my pastel over watercolor. Most of these samples have been double dogs, but here is a lovely gal, all by herself.

Zeppy
I have done so many watercolors, I had to just take a break. I WANT to do more oils but am literally running out of room with full sized paintings. Here is one of my old friend Zeppelin. It is 11x14" and I can give an online special of $425 if you are interested.

Second Diamond
This little Bulldog was a little bit tricky. The new technique is a lot about using white for details. I painted myself into a corner using a white dog... but I think I painted out. Also on a deep wrapped 5x5"

Tank
A birthday commission. Quite a task! I got a photo of the dog and a photo of the t-shirt and we got him all dressed up between my computer and my pencil. Shhhhh... the birthday is TODAY so here is a preview:
