This piece was an entry to the Mountain Oyster Club show in Tucson Arizona.  Dog patiently waits for the old cowboy to light up the smoke with the all by his feet... just ready.

The Final Demonstration

I went over the softer shapes in both white and black pencils to make the fur more furry. Crisp edges and bright eyes. Voila!

Charcoal Aussie

Sorry, folks! I have been trying to keep things going all over the map and the pictures I have been painting do not have fur! I promise to post all dogs but they are few for now (but I have a feeling something big may be happening in March. Cross fingers for me.

This is a demonstration of charcoal that I did for my class in Mesa. We are tackling all sorts of subjects and I will take this to a sharper finish tomorrow. Keep watching.

Aussie...OOOPS!

I still get a little nervous posting gifts, but this is a great one! Mom and Dad love this good old dog. They know he won't be around long so we are cautiously sending emails, hoping the son won't see it and spoil the Christmas surprise.

Aussie Shepherd

All those red spots are hard to miss. Aussies are the blotchy breed with the really intense eyes.

More Dakota

This is just one of the park celebrities. He is a frisbee champ who is never NOT ready to catch something. As you see from his portrait, he is waiting for something much better than his close up!

Aussie Rescue

Again, a volunteer shot from an Australian Sheep Dog rescue group.  I wanted to try a little different idea.  This is good old pen and ink with just a little color in the eyes.  I have some problems and some successes, but I am happy to have rummaged around to find the old fashioned technique a good old friend.

I saw this dog at a show recently and the light was just perfect! Decided to present this as one of my not so rough diamonds!

Another Sweetie from Down Under

The client saw my girl from last week and needed a memorial of their dear passed pet.  It is again intended as a surprise, so lets keep it quiet.

That amazing coat that says Aussie and the two colored eyes made this the perfect first sample of a great Australian Shepherd.
